What to expect...
You will sit in a recliner chair, and sensors will be applied to your scalp. You will relax while watching a scenic video (or Netflix video of your choice) . The screen will fade in and out based on your brainwaves. It is painless, non-invasive, relaxing, and pleasant. Kids like to do neurofeedback because they get to watch a movie or TV show of their choosing!
How long is a session?
A typical session includes about 30 minutes of neurofeedback, plus an additional 15 minutes for discussion and setup. So each session is about 45-50 minutes in total
How often and how many sessions are needed?
Everyone starts with twice per week for the most effective treatment (alternative plans can be considered). You should plan for at least 20 sessions.
Do we take insurance?
We do not bill insurance but we can provide a superbill so you can attempt reimbursement.
What method of neurofeedback do we use?
Glacier Family Neurofeedback uses the Othmer Method, which is a symptom driven method of neurofeedback. The clinician is guided by the client's report of how they feel during and after each session. In cases of children, parents report symptoms and behavior for the couple of days following each session.
